Episode 16: Fans Hating on Jack Black and Other Questionable Castings

We sit down today (remotely for the last time) to discuss the issues with fans having assumptions about certain actors being cast for popular characters.  The announcement of Jack Black being cast as Claptrap for the Borderlands movie was met with less than an  enthusiastic response.  We are left to wonder why fans of franchises tend to be the hardest critics of these decisions, and rush to judgement about the quality of the film with such limited information?  Is it the filmmakers responsibility to only try to satisfy the fans of the franchise or to execute their vision; right or wrong?
